To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is written on behalf of Andrew Matses of M.C. Andrews Construction Co., Inc., N. Andover, MA.

During this writer's thirty-five (35) year's experiences in the field of architecture, never have I had the opportunity to work with a general contractor whose work is more steeped in quality than that of Andrew Matses. As a matter of fact, Andrew's knowledge and abilities in construction, from small residential to large heavy industrial projects reflect that he "grew up in the business".

Andrew has constructed many buildings and projects that I have designed and detailed, from function half/restaurant work to college dormitory renovations, three Massachusetts prison additions and major medical office facilities. I must note that the most recent of prison additions was cited for its creativity in construction management and techniques.

Most recently, he worked with this office in completing major renovations to one of the largest restaurant facilities in the United States. The project had the potential to be a nightmare of the tallest order, with all work to create new function and lounge spaces within the existing building envelope above existing kitchen and dining spaces. Amazingly, all work was accomplished ahead of schedule and without interruption to existing business activities.

Particular mention must be made of the exemplary relationships that existed and developed between the Architect, Andrew as prime contractor, and the sub-contractors, restaurant staff and executives. This made the entire process of construction a smooth effort in the midst of a very complex environment. IN fact, because of his exhaustive efforts and remarkable abilities on that project, his company, MC. Andrews Construction Co., Inc., was awarded additional work at the same site as well as other sites owned by the same client.

In conclusion, and in addition to my own experience, I am aware, through my position as a design professional, of the esteem in which Andrew Matses is held within the construction community due his unmatched quality as a general contractor and as a person.

Respectfully submitted,
Charles Goldstein AIA, Architectural Energies Inc.
